I wanted to discuss the common RPG game mechanic known as life-stealing. This ability is perhaps one of my favourite shared game mechanic across multiple games as it fits my playstyle really well. In short how it functions is that you attack an enemy and on each hit you either get a guaranteed or a chance to heal yourself in relation to the damage you dealt.
This mechanic has been in most RPG games for a long time and often is associated with vampires or demon hunters. This is probably why I love playing as vampires so much as having the ability to sustain myself in the middle of combat is something I widely enjoy. Usually the downside is less damage but having the ability to stay alive longer is much more important to myself.
What do you all think of this game mechanic? Do you utilise it when it becomes available or do you prefer a different type of combat style? Be sure to comment and let us know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
