So after watching some videos from Many a True Nerd (if you haven’t seen any of his Fallout videos I would highly encourage a watch) in his latest Fallout 4 video he decided to explain how damage resistance works in the game.
It occurred to me that the system is so vast and complex that difficult maths needs to be used in order to even begin to understand how the system works. This does annoy me slightly as it means that a significant portion of players wont even know how the system properly works and as such can’t spec their characters properly unless they do some hard math. However another part of me loves just how complex this is and even in Skyrim with the weird armor rating system in that game I found it enjoyable once I learnt it properly. So I guess what I’m asking you all today is do you prefer these hidden complex systems or do you prefer simple and out in the open types of gameplay mechanics? I’d certainly be interested to hear.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
