A surprise reveal this week came from Sony’s conference at the Paris Games Week, a sequel to the beloved indie darling Spelunky! The original game was a 2D rogue-like that focused on exploring procedurally generated levels, finding treasure and hopefully surviving to the end. The game was no pushover so most people are certainly hoping the sequel will provide a hardy challenge too.
I haven’t personally played the original fully however this announcement is making me consider purchasing the original and fully trying it out. It has a lot of elements that I love in games so this could be a fun romp. The new game surprisingly has announced a PS4 release alongside the normal PC one too so console players can finally try the series out. No announcement of an Xbox One release however so you Microsoft players might be out of luck.
