A revelation has been put into question in the new DLC for Fallout 4, don’t worry no spoilers ahead.
Is your player character a synth? It’s a question that is brought up, posed to us as the player, and then not touched upon again. The idea behind it is that it can never truly be confirmed if this statement is true or not but it’s up to the player to decide whether they believe it or not.
There seems to be evidence of course. The fact that out character only remembers the day just before the bombs fell, the fact we never age or the fact that we can still use V.A.T.S before getting the Pip-Boy in the vault. There’s a huge number of questions that could simply be attributed to the fact that it’s just a game mechanic or limitation of the engine but still… it’s an interesting question.
