Stealth

Shame this game wasn’t so great

Stealth in gaming is a pre-determined game mechanic for a lot of genres. RPG’s, Platformers even First Person Shooters all have stealth mechanics imbedded into them to create a different and varied form of gameplay, whether it is the main mechanic of a game or not.

However an interesting premise comes up when asking what games do stealth the best? I thought this question as I decided to create a stealth-based character in Skyrim. Now I am not a fool, Skyrim’s stealth mechanics are far from perfect, in fact the stealth mechanics introduced in that game are widely considered unrealistic and silly, I mean you can stand in front of someone in broad daylight and they still can’t see you if your skill is high enough.

Now a game like the original Thief? That does stealth at its best. No focus on killing, obvious signs of people’s awareness of you with your trusty gem, verticle and large levels to climb all over the list goes on. These are just a few of the reasons why the stealth in this game was so good, many other games should take notes.

So what game did stealth the best in your opinion? Be sure to let us know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
