Holy magic is a rather straightforward game concept when it comes to RPG’s. Generally used by Priests or Paladins this type of magic is used to slay undead creatures, heal others and generally do large amount of support. The difficult part in defining it however comes in the form of many games that use it as a type of ‘ultimate magic’ that trumps all other forms while some just treat is as a supportive branch of magic.
Now I am one who believes it should stay as supportive magic, with only some spells being used to damage enemies (mostly undead) however games like Fire Emblem use it to damage normal units, which to me kind of goes against what it represents. Usually this type of magic is gifted by higher beings for only the use of good and kind magic use but using it against lowly bandits who might just be trying to get along in this life, it’s a bit difficult to justify or imagine the gods are very happy with this.
Anyway what are your thoughts on this? Let me know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
