After playing a reviewing a game for my buddies over at High Rez Gaming (review should be coming out soon, stay tuned and keep an eye out!) I came to realise that the Point ‘N Click Adventure style game is really on the decline. Needless to say I haven’t seen a proper high budget Point ‘N Click game in a long time, especially not being created by a triple A publisher.
It seems as though Indie Game Developers have been left to squeeze the last bit of creativity out of the genre that they can however will that prove to even be enough? Honestly perhaps it’s simply the relic of an old gaming genre that has pretty much run its course, similar to that of the on-rails shooter. Will we see more out of these type of games? While Indie developers are around of course! However the mainstream market may not see it fit to touch the out of date genre for a while now, but perhaps that isn’t true. The future holds many mysteries.
