Along with XCOM 2’s newest expansion last week also saw the release of the PC version of Sonic Mania (to some controversy too, but that’s a story for another day).
I kept away from everything I could to be as spoiler free as possible and let me tell you after playing through the game I’m so happy that I did. This is classic Sonic in prime form. Amazingly colourful stages, multiple paths through stages meaning every replay of a stage could be different, tight controls and amazingly creative bosses (Chemical Plant has one of my now all time favourite bosses almost purely due to nostalgia, those who have played know what I’m talking about).
While it is short, compared to the other games in the series I actually felt as though this game was more substantial and had a lot more zones in it. Of courset the aim of this game is to replay until you get better so that’s what I will do! As a quick note to everyone who is thinking of giving this a go, I highly encourage it. Who knows, you could become the next great speedrunner!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
