With Shadow of the Colossus’s remaster release looming on this year many expectations are laid on this game which I still state is the best video game ever made, shame I don’t own a PS4.
A big concern people had when seeing the initial trailers however were the artistic changes to the original game. While the graphical upgrades are very obvious the big problem seems to be that a lack of fog or grain seems to create a less oppressive and ancient atmosphere which was absolutely critical to the beauty of the original game. Luckily however thanks to several gaming news outlets getting some hands on experience we can confirm that the remaster will also include not only a brand new photo mode but also gameplay graphical filters to make the game look different, including the original grainy brown. Obviously this alleviates a lot of the concerns surrounding this remaster and I for one am happy that the game will be getting the royal treatement that it deserves.
