Canada recently made a push for people to get involved in the video game development market by creating an initiative known as the ‘Hour of Code’. It challenged people to make a completely new game in only 1 hour using a simple game making engine that helped kids and adults create something without needing coding experience.
The initiative was so successful that even the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, created a simple hockey game that you are able to play for free online! Though to be completely honest it is very bare-bones and had a serious glitch that makes too many pucks be thrown until they overload the screen and crash your browser.
Still the possibilities are endless. If someone with no coding experience can make a game then who’s to say you can’t either? If you have a passion and an idea for a game then go ahead and try to use some of the tools available to make it. You never know, it could turn out to be the next Undertale!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
