Zelda Direct 2026

Wake the #&!$ up Link, we’ve got a Hyrule to save…

I like Zelda! You like Zelda! Does Nintendo like Zelda? I certainly hope so. Here’s the reveals from the Zelda Direct.

First off we got confirmation of a date on the Zelda film, April 30th 2027. It’s actually shockingly close, and I really do wonder how they will pull it off, especially as it’s fully live action.

Then, we finally got details on the new Ocarina of Time remake, and oh boy it’s a lot. It’s a full remake, with gameplay little to do with the original. A fully controllable camera, new dialogue, full jump controls, a sprint function, fully voiced cutscenes, Link looks like a 5 year old, the graphics in general look like they were created on the Unreal Engine with an almost uncanny look, less loading screens/transitions, new enemy placements and puzzles. Effectively this is just a brand new game with a familiar story, which is a great way of doing a remake for such an iconic game, giving it reason to exist alongside the original game. It releases on November 5th, shockingly close! Shame I won’t have a Switch 2 in order to play it.

Then they finished it off with some smart device stuff that works with the new game that I don’t particularly care about. I’m sure it’s neat, I just care about the game itself. And that was that, obviously didn’t expect much more and I do feel as though the remake it worth existing now, I just am a bit sad I won’t get to play it. Damn expensive consoles.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
