Now that the Zelda direct is out the way it’s time for Nintendo to show off their other stuff! Will there be new Marios? New franchises? Or will we just get general updates? Let’s find out!
First up we’ve got a few ports. Monster Hunter Wilds, Witcher 3, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Meccha Chameleon, Final Fantasy 7 remake stuff etc etc nothing too exciting to talk about. What IS exciting is a new Professor Layton game! Haven’t seen that series in a while, it’s called World of Steam, so expect plenty of Steampunk stuff taking place.
Next up is Ondeh Ondeh, a musical platformer game that has a really cool looking aesthetic style, reminds me a lot of Double Fine, will be coming to Switch 2 next year. Then we got a new Metroid game! Metroid Ravenous, which seems to be a sequel to Dread of some kind with the 2D gameplay which people loved. Also, Samus eats people now, who woulda guessed!
Then (entirely because I’m biased) there’s a remaster of Yugioh tag Force GX! How odd and cool, and an interesting choice to remaster. And finally, we got a new Kirby game. Kirby and the World Beyond, a fully open world Kirby game that seemingly has powered-up copy abilities and plenty of exploration.
That’s all there is this time. Honestly, a bit disappointing. Mostly just ports and not even a new Mario. A new Kirby is nice, but there’s plenty of things that could have been here. Oh well, you can’t win all the Directs. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
