In a nice turn of events this year it would seem as though QA testers at Zenimax Studios, the parent company of Bethesda, have confirmed the formation of an official union under the CWA (Communications Workers of America) and thus due to the size of this are officially the biggest union in the gaming sector in America.
While many companies such as Activision/Blizzard have been very anti-union and have been working hard to dissolve or outright not recognise various unions Microsoft have been far more open to the idea of a union stating that,
“In light of the results of the recent unionization vote, we recognize the Communications Workers of America (CWA) as the bargaining representative for the Quality Assurance employees at ZeniMax. We look forward to engaging in good faith negotiations as we work towards a collective bargaining agreement.”
Hopefully this means that this actions will be more fruitful than it has been in other big gaming companies and that those in the QA department will be treated fairly in the future. Here’s to you fellow workers!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
