Yugioh has been in a bit of a bad state recently as many competitive players have left the game in recent months and upcoming card releases are looking to be not much better, leading many to question whether this might be the biggest blow to the card game ever. Well it seems as though Konami’s Western Division agrees and has provided the biggest banlist update in history with the above series of bans and limits.
It’s certainly a huge list, tackling many of the big issue cards that prove to cause issues either due to their un-fun nature or their ability to be used generically. However, hilariously, I don’t think this massive list will still be enough to really fix the game’s current state. Cards can be substituted, going first is still usually how you win and with new, toxic decks coming out very soon it’s unlikely that things will get that much better even after this absolute slaughter of a list. What does that mean for the future of this game? Who knows, but all I know is that I’m happy most of my deck was kept untouched, for now at least.
