An interesting trend I’ve noticed in recent months is the usage of AI tools in the modding scene to inject game systems into others creating a strange hybrid game, usually done through tools such as Universal Modder. For example, taking the game systems of something like Minecraft and putting them into the world of Elden Ring as seen above creating a strange combination game.
It’s certainly impressive looking stuff, even though it is certainly buggy, but the fact that this is possible at all is worthy of note. People have pointed out however that despite all of this technically impressive work the fact this is being done by AI systems means that it is most certainly being vibe coded, leading to massive issues that only really rear their head once you delve into them a little deeper. Is this the future of large modding works? Time only will tell, however I still am all for the hard work of independent mod creators doing their best to make the best and most creative mods they can.
