Another year goes by and another Awesome Games Done Quick event has started, well actually it started on sunday but apparently I am bad with scheduling my posts accordingly.
For those who are not in the loop GDQ events are speedrunning conventions in which groups of talented gamers come together and perform live speedruns to both audiences and online in order to try and beat world records, give speedrunning guides and raise money for charity. The ‘awesome’ part of this event notifies that it is the start of the year version of GDQ in contrast to Summer GDQ which takes place during the middle of the year. I for one will be keeping an eye on all the speedruns to see if any of my favourite games show up this time. Who knows, maybe someone will finally perform that Misadventures of Tron Bonne speedrun I’ve always wanted to see.
