There are few concepts for games that immediately pique my interest but a spiritual successor to the Mother series certainly is one of them. Oddity (the game in question) is very clearly a love letter to the game’s that have inspired it form the art style to the soundtrack, it all looks absolutely amazing.
What is perhaps even more interesting is the fact that this project started off as an unofficial Mother 4 until the people making it decided to make it a standalone project in order to avoid the legal problems that might come from making such a game. Now with it being it’s own thing and being a widely released standalone game they can profit off the hard work they clearly have put into this and not have to worry about crossing any lines when it comes to a piece of fan work.
Regardless I am very excited for it and as can be seen from the trailer there is no release date yet so I will wait in anticipation until it is ready. I better get my baseball bat prepared. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
