I don’t tend to keep up to date with Minecraft updates, primarily because I’m an old man and all these new mechanics and additions to what was originally a simple game are becoming too overwhelming and confusing for an old fart like me. However. Mojang seemingly have done something very interesting and have teased the reveal of a brand new dimension into the game, The Sift.
Now, the reason why this is rather significant is that there hasn’t really been a brand new dimension added to the game that wasn’t just a revamp of an older once since the original 1.0 release of the game with The End. They also are deciding to reveal it in an interesting way, by having it first appear in the ARPG sequel coming out this year Minecraft Dungeons 2. Very clever Microsoft… get people to buy your mediocre side game by teasing them with one of the biggest updates to the original game… very clever…
As for The Sift itself, we don’t know that much about it at present. It seems to be taking on a more fantastical appearance, with bunnies and pink grass and clear skies. Maybe this will be Mojang’s take on the Aether? It remains to be seen at present. More information about this new world will be revealed at a later date, we’ll see if it ends up being the big enough spice to bring people flocking back into the game.
