It may be controversial, but outside of Elden Ring I think my favourite game out of the original Dark Souls trilogy is actually 2, mainly because of how dream-like it is and all of the fun I had with the dark magic builds I played. It’s the one that stuck with me the most and whilst I still adore the other games there’s only one Majula, and that pretty much says it all.
It seems then that modders agree with me as well known Fromsoft modder Yui, creator of Seamless co-op for Elden Ring has brought that mod to Dark Souls 2 now, meaning you can play through the entirety of the game with a friend if you so wished. This is excellent as Dark Souls 2 is known for being brutally unfair in many locations, so this may be the only way some people can actually experience the wonders of this game.
