Well this was certainly a surprise. Nintendo recently showed off some of the indie games that would be coming to the Switch and one of them in particular has caught many people’s eyes. Do you all remember ‘Crypt of the Necrodancer’? It was a fun rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you had to fight and move to the beat of the music in the background. The idea was fantastic and it’s still one of the best examples of the genre available on PC. Well it seems Nintendo was impressed too as they have allowed the developers to make a brand new Zelda game with the same idea known as ‘Cadence of Hyrule’.
To many this will look like Necrodancer but with a Zelda skin and while that does seem like the case initially it’s actually an entirely new game with a brand new story, characters and an entire world to explore. You can of course play as the main character from Necrodancer but this time both Link and Zelda will also be playable characters. It’s all very interesting and I will certainly be keeping an eye on this game as I feel like some dungeon crawling to remixed Zelda music sounds like a great idea.
