While this isn’t strictly video game news it’s something that no doubt will have an impact on the Warhammer game franchise and so it’s well worth talking about here. Games Workshop has been teasing the return of the Warhammer Fantasy universe for a while now, ever since they officially destroyed it with The End Times. Now it seems we finally have an estimated return date with Warhammer: The Old World, being released for tabletop settings early next year.
This new setting is technically a prequel to what players experienced beforehand as it will primarily take place in the time period known as the “The Age of the Three Emperors” and so will focus a lot more on the human-led factions such as The Empire and Bretonnia. There of course will be fantastical elements, this is Warhammer after all, but all of the big events happen later in the timeline and so this will mostly be a calmer period of time than the literal end of the world knocking on this fantasy realm’s doorstep. Regardless I’m sure many fans of the setting, including myself, will be happy to see what new things and interesting bits of lore will be added in this prequel, guess it’s just a matter of time to wait and see.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
