Another big hidden secret of the gaming sector has come out, how fun. If you haven’t heard of the company Quantic Lab then don’t worry, nobody has. They’re a QA company based in Romania and have worked to provide game testing services for big titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Darksiders, Vampyr and more.
The big controversy comes from the fact that not only were the company lying to others about their size and capabilities, meaning they were lumped with massive projects that they could not handle, but employees have let it spill that working there was a hellish experience that had them working for far too little money, be constantly ridiculed and come out with not much to show for their years of service. This all came from several investigative reports made by several outlets and content creators who got in contact with ex-employees to find out just how bad it was working for this company.
Now the list of games there might clue you in that due to them handling big games, some of them with massive QA issues, that they bit off more than they could chew and that was absolutely correct in many instances. New workers were brought in to handle new big projects and most smaller titles usually had their best employees siphoned away to meet deadlines. It all seems like a horrible experience and for very little pay. No wonder then that the whistle has finally been blown about this company and I do hope that in the future those still working on the ground level can find a way to unionise or assure a better work culture for themselves. They absolutely deserve it for all the hard work they put in.
