Here was me thinking the PC Gamer event was going to be the biggest event to happen this past week in the gaming world, how silly I was to completely forget that Sony were officially revealing the PS5 and the games coming to the new system.
And what a big list they showed off! Alongside of course discussing the new console and exactly how powerful it will be they also showed a big amount of exclusive titles and new reveals to help keep people excited during this information drought. I’ll only cover a couple of the big ones here so if you’re really interested be sure to check out the archived stream yourself!
They showed off that Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel they teased before now known as Horizon 2: Forbidden West. A brand new Spider-Man game was shown off featuring the depiction of the hero from Into the Spiderverse which was a nice surprise to see. A brand new resident evil game was announced, Resident Evil 8: Village which looks like it will be in an eastern european setting and will feature more supernatural elements such as werewolves and witches. A brand new Ratchet and Clank game was shown which is a big return to a series that hasn’t had much to do since the movie it made was released. A brand new Gran Turismo game also got revealed which is sure to keep racing fans happy and the biggest reveal that caught my attention was the announcement of a complete remake of the original Demon’s Souls, the predecessor to the beloved Dark Souls.
All of these game announcements have been pretty swell and it seems the PS5 is coming out swinging when it comes to releases next year, I just wonder exactly how Microsoft will top this. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
