The New Vive Headset

Even more future tech!

HTC are bringing out a new Vive VR Headset, the Vive Focus Vision, and with a pricepoint of around $1000 you can imagine it’s quite the beast. It’s comparible to the recently released, but cheaper Meta Quest 3 and the specs show it’s a hell of a machine to be strapping onto you head.

The biggest new feature they are touting is the ‘hot-swap’ battery system where, due to this being a wireless headset, you can swap out the battery on the system while it is on to give it even more life without losing progress in whatever you were doing. It’s a bit of a niche situation in my opinion, but I suppose aside from larger specs there needs to be a grab from something when doing any kind of marketing.

My original HTC Vive is currently still sitting in its box and sadly is unlikely to be taken out any time soon. My home just doesn’t have enough space to use a VR Headset where my PC is located, so the wireless options are pretty much my only hope, and because I can’t access my powerful PC specs in another room the experience would end up just being sub-par. I hope I can find a solution for this another time, but for now it appears that developments in VR might be something I have to take a break from at the moment sadly.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
