Remember how Amazon Game Studios were developing a new MMO using the Lord of the Rings IP? Actually let me rephrase that, remember Amazon Game Studios exists? Well if you’re a fan of Middle Earth then you will be sorely dissapointed as Amazon have confirmed that the game they were working on has been officially cancelled, what a shocker.
The cancellation apparently comes after talks between them and the parents company, Tencent, broke down quite considerably and they felt they were unable to develop the project any further resulting in a complete breakdown in development and ultimately from there decided to scrap the project entirely. It’s funny that it seems to happen to almost anything this studio creates as they still have not yet released a full game despite being formed in 2014, perhaps game development just isn’t something Amazon should be focusing on right now.
