The First Major Gaming Union

Hopefully happy workers now

In a follow up to a previous post about the creation of a union for QA testers at the gaming studio Raven Software I’m happy to let you all know that they were successful in the creation of their very own union, I’m so happy for them!

Activision/Blizzard did all they could to stop such a Union from taking place by offering communication with themselves, not accepting the formation and then officially not recognising the Union as legitimate. However after lengthy court proceedings and the team voting together they concluded with this new formation and as such can begin work to make things better not just for the QA team but for the entire studio as a whole. This marks the first official formation of a major gaming company having a Union represent it’s employees and as such is a sign of good things to come. I just hope this means more companies will follow suit, maybe Ubisoft next?

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
