With the announcement that E3 would be physically taking place again this year many were speculating as to if the big companies would actually come back to the event and others still wondered if E3 had passed it’s time now that the digital streaming age is upon us. Well it seems these fears have been confirmed correct as not only is Nintendo still not bothering to show up but Microsoft and Sony have also confirmed they will not be attending E3 this year.
This of course leaves room for other publishers such as Activion/Blizzard or Ubisoft but with the big hardware manufacturers choosing to skip this year it will be a massive blow to the event in general. Personally I totally understand why they don’t bother as not only do they have to pay for a spot but if they just choose to do their own reveal livestream they can keep the pace of the event exactly as they want it and the natural game media news sources will help perpetuate the big new reveals. Regardless it will be interesting to see the results of this year’s E3 and if this will truly be the death nail in the coffin for the event as a whole.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
