The COD Parade

No not a fishy celebration

Activision Blizzard have recently made a lot of changes concerning the developers working underneath their mighty boot, all of which seems to be solely focused upon the juggernaut that is Call of Duty. Firstly they announced that developer Toys For Bob would now be exclusively working on their latest hat in the Battle Royale ring Call of Duty: Warzone and this was then followed by the announcement that Sledgehammer Games, who previously worked on other COD titles, would now be working on the next game in the series and that it would “work directly with Warzone” whatever that means.

As you can see from this it’s clear that Activision Blizzard see exactly where their biggest profits are coming from and as such they want as much development on these titles as possible which makes sense financially but is this really the best route to be taking these developers? Toys For Bob is especially odd as their previous games have been remasters of classic Playstation franchises such as Spyro and Crash Bandicoot which have both been excellent kid-friendly experiences but having them now work exclusively on Call of Duty content seems directly outside of their comfort zone. Regardless I suppose these are just the creative casualties you have to face once you come under the wing of Activision Blizzard, I just hope they don’t come to regret this.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
