An interesting turn of events has taken place at Blizzard HQ as Jeff Kaplan, the head of the Overwatch team, has decided after 19 years to leave the company. He has seemingly left on good terms and another member of the development team, Aaron Keller, would be taking his place as the new head.
This move is odd as Jeff has been widely considered the ‘face’ of Overwatch and has been a living meme for the entire time that the game has been in the spotlight. With his departure now it’s uncertain as to how well future projects concerning the franchise will go especially considering he has left seemingly directly in the middle of development of the Overwatch sequel. Still the company has stated that development is going smoothly and that things will be good regardless of Jeff’s departure but I’m getting some Vampire: The Masquerade vibes from all this…
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
