Taking the Two

Ohh I included the words Take Two! Guess my article will get deleted!

It seems as though publisher Take-Two is going on the legal warpath as they have recently filed a bunch of disputes with different companies that they claim are utilising their intellectual property for a variety of reasons.

The most high profile of these is the recently released indie game known as “It Takes Two” which follows a divorcing couple as they go on a wild adventure after being turned into toys. The company that made the game, Hazelight Studios, tried to trademark the game’s title for obvious reasons however Take-Two sent legal papers to them stating that they would openly dispute this and as a result would cause massive amounts of financial woe to the indie company. As such sadly they decided to abandon the trademark for their game and while hopefully that will be the end of it considering how dispute-happy the publisher has become recently it’s a worrying precedent that they are setting. Let’s just hope that this doesn’t get any worse.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
