Once again we come back to the big E3 replacement and oh boy was there plenty to talk about at this event. So, as always, I’ll only be talking about the things that personally interested me, but without further ado let’s get into this.
First off, we had the the reveal of a new resident evil game, Resident Evil: Veronica, which sees you playing as Claire Redfield in a Paris setting, and as you might imagine, it’s a reimagining of Code Veronica, so it looks like Capcom are continuing the remake train as much as they can. It comes out in 2027, so best to keep an eye out for that if you love the series.
Next we were shown a new Cuphead game, Mighty Cuphead Adventure, which looks like an 8-bit reimagining of the standard Cuphead gameplay. Very retro, very nice, and something appropriate to the recent Mina the Hollower release! Next up, we finally got to see full, actual gameplay of Team Ico’s new game, titled ‘gen Atlas’ this will see you exploring a big, scary world as a robot piloting another giant robot. As should be expected from this studio all very interesting and artistic, and I certainly hope you get to battle the giant robots together as it looks very cinematic.
Next, a new Platinum Games title, a TMNT game!? What an odd choice, I must say though I thought the announcement was actually going to be MGR 2, and I’m so sad that it isn’t. Oh well, that’s just my own expectations taking over, I’m sure this will be a cool game regardless. We then got the announcement of Guild Wars 3, speculated for a while, and finally announced here. The beta for the game will be in the Fall of 2027, so a while away, but I’m just happy that the cat is finally out of the bag and a new, big MMO will finally be hitting the scene after all these years.
After that we got the announcement of an interesting looking witch game by the original creator of Assassin’s Creed known as ‘1666 Amsterdam’. It looks like it may have Necromancy in it, so you can imagine I’m immediately interested. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one. Following on from this we got a shocker, the Telltale series that never got to finish, The Wolf Among Us, is finally getting to release their next season, hopefully they will actually be able to finish this series, and alongside this the first season is also getting a Remaster which is nice to see.
Finally we got the announcement of the last part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series, Revelation, and whilst it’s not quite something I’m very interested in I’m glad to see this game series finally wrapping up. It’s truly felt like this remake has taken its time to get to the end so seeing it finally coming to a conclusion is a nice thing.
And that’s a wrap, plenty to talk about and of course still plenty I missed out so feel free to check out the full stream to see all of the games announced. In the meantime however I hope you found these as interesting as I did. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
