Skeletons and Cats

I loved Night in the Woods, it was a particularly lovely narrative experience that combined the charming aesthetics of a simple cartoon style wiht the deep and complex writing that made it a truly human story, despite featuring mostly animal people. Now it seems that the studio behind this wonderful game, The Glory Society, are creating a new game known as ‘Revenant Hill’.

This was apparently shown off at the Playstation showcase event (speaking of which, why did nobody tell me about this!?) and seems to feature a lot less animal people and more skeletons. You still get to play as a cat though, so that’s cool. At the moment aside from the initial blurb about the main character being a cat who needs to make rent after their barn burns down we don’t know too much else aside from the fact it’s set in 1919 and will have some spooky elements… I could have guessed that from all the Skeletons…

Still it looks as lovely as the previous game from these developers and this vibe reminds me a lot of Over the Garden Wall, which I also loved, so this really seems like something I will be keeping my eye on. No release date as of yet, though if it isn’t released for Halloween I will be very dissapointed.
