Well this was a rather unexpected move. A few years ago development studio Psyonix created Rocket League, a football game that combined the great idea of the standard of putting the ball into the net with the added addition of rocket powered cars into the mix. This was such a successful formula that it looks as though they are aiming to take on another market with this premise, the mobile scene.
Rocket League Sideswipe is a free-to-play 2D version of the original game that is set to release later this year on mobile devices and the premise is essentially the same as you use the touchscreen to control your car in order to hit the ball into the net while playing against other people. The concept is inherently fun of course but I really do wonder how the controls will work on a mobile device as this seems like a game in which precision is key. Regardless it will be interesting to see how successful the game is and it even will be having a closed alpha test soon so be sure to check that out if you are interested.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
