I was really excited to play Revenant Hill, a game in development by the same geniuses that made the wonderful Night in the Woods. However it seems as though tragedy has struck and now the entire game is cancelled. Primarily this is due to some members of the very small development team fighting with serious illness which has led to the entire project becoming more of a strain on the indie group than a passion project. As such, for their health, the team has decided to scrap the game and focus instead on getting better, which is absolutely what they should do. Games are great and all, but they should never come at the expense of someone’s wellbeing, so while it is sad I won’t get to see another great project from these developers I’m happy to see them care about themselves first and foremost. Who knows, maybe one day this will rise from the dead…
