Online Gamecubes

What a nice and simple logo

Normally you aren’t supposed to discuss the idea of emulation in the games media due to the implication that it is theft from gaming companies however I disagree. The amount of work that goes into these programs and the love and passion of the creators is very evident. I think no other emulation group shows this more than those whoa re working on the Gamecube/Wii emulation program known as Dolphin.

The reason I bring them up now is that a recent update to the software has added a server browser for actual online play for the games you play on the emulator. This is a huge breakthrough as it not only adds online play for games that normally wouldn’t have it (such as Super Smash Bros Melee) but the fact that it even has a server browser means that the ease of playing online with others is accessible for so many players. Dolphin may just become the best way to play Gamecube games due to the added replayability of online functions and that has to be applauded. Let’s just hope that all this extra publicity doesn’t end up in Nintendo shutting them down.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
