The playstation showcase just recently happened and a bunch of new stuff was revealed but I wanted to focus on what was possibly the biggest news of the whole event, that Metal Gear Solid 3 is finally getting a full remake alongside a release on Xbox and PC.
MGS3 has been considered by many to be the best in the series and as such this news is huge for fans of these games. It will also come with a ‘Master Collection’ of the other 2 3D MGS games and a re-release of the original 3 which will most likely just be getting fresher paint while the full remake will be seperate. Konami also confirmed that this is ‘Volume 1’ in the MGS Master Collection which may mean that the other games in the series will be getting released for modern hardware and PC, which would also be a first for MGS 4 coming to PC. This all is due to the 35th anniversary of the series coming up soon so looks like they’re really looking to celebrate this time, despite the original creator no longer being involved.
The master collection is set to come out in autumn at some point but the remake has not yet received a date. Regardless rejoice MGS fans, you’re finally being noticed! Let’s just hope they don’t mess up this remake…
