I’ve talked before about the legal troubles that former Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell has faced over the years since his departure. From Bungie forcing him to take down reuploaded music and making a public apology to being unjustly fired from the company due to Activision meddling this guy has certainly had a bumpy ride in the gaming industry.
Well it would seem that something has finally gone well for the gentleman as he has settled his issue of unpaid royalties for his work with Microsoft in an amicable fashion which has allowed him to not only receive the just compensation for his work but will also allow him to do other things with his music such as reupload them online. This is a huge win for the composer and while his work on Destiny will probably still not ever come to light he can at least share some of his work on Halo. To be honest in the hearts and minds of most lovers of his work that’s the stuff we care most about anyway.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
