For many people playing VR games hasn’t really hit the mainstream yet due to a lack of meaningful games to actually play on the platform. Sure there are tonnes of short experiences but there are only a handul of actual games that you can replay and enjoy as narrative experiences. Even though you have to pay full price rather than having it as an extra when you own the original game (which I still think is a rather scummy move) Bethesda’s Skyrim and Fallout 4 are still some of the most actual gaming that you can have using VR but they obviusly have some massive downsides.
Lucky then for modding, and with this mod in particular. HIGGS is a new system for Skyrim that essentially with a couple of extra mods allows you to fully interact with the game world by giving your hands a physical presence and even allows you to pull objects towards you Gravity Gloves style like in Half Life: Alyx. This system while it may sound rather simple actually boosts immersion by an incredible amount and even has many extra things such as allowing you to store items you pick up by putting them over your shoulder, throw objects at enemies to hurt them and even pull armor directly off of dead enemies in order to inspect it and add it to your inventory. The concept of it only really works in lore if you imagine you are a mage using a telekinesis spell but the amount of control and fluidity it adds to the gameplay is an incredible addition that I truly think all players of Skyrim VR should add to their list.
