Creative Assembly have really been hammering down how much Total War: Warhammer 40K is going to be big, and of course it will be, it’s 40K, it will sell like hotcakes and probably outsell the Fantasy-focused Total War: Warhammer within weeks, much to my dismay.
However it seems as though they’re also banking on this being the next big project they will be working on for the next decade or so. This is because in interviews they’ve confirmed that they don’t plan to make sequel games like they did with Total War: Warhammer but instead will just add factions and mechanics into this one 40K title with DLC and updates.
An interesting move, but one that makes sense. The third TW: Warhammer game is pretty much the only one you need to play anyway as all the previous content has been ported over to it so streamlining this for what is probably going to be their biggest game ever just makes sense. It does bring about the uncomfortable idea however that advances in technology will pass this game by over the years, not to mention how the graphics may age, however I’m no game designer so I’m sure it makes sense to them. I just wonder how long it will be until we get the Mechanicus… or the Necrons!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
