So we once again come to another live service being taken offline, though this one is a bit stranger. You see the fighting game Multiversus came out not that long ago and Warner Bros have stated that actually the game we were playing until now was a ‘beta’ and the full release would be in the early months of next year. To that end they’re taking the game offline and will return it once it has fully come out.
Now while this does indeed give them some time to fix things and make the game better this is ultimately just shooting themselves in the foot as the player base will simply not be there anymore. Setting up the precedence that the game can be taken offline at any point and for any amount of time is just absurd. It’s a shame really as this game did indeed have potential but alas it seems as though corporate will be corporate. I wonder just how the reaction will be when the game returns…
