If you are a fan of shooters from the 90’s where the term DOOM Clone was still freshly in the minds of PC players at the time then you may remember the first ever Star Wars shooter, Dark Force, which was a fresh take on the genre despite it essentially just being a Doom game with Star Wars branding placed all over it. It also had it’s own engine and was notoriously difficult to reverse engineer due to this however it seems as though you can’t keep modders down as some cleve clogs have managed to not ust reverse engineer the original engine but make their very own unique open-source one, the ‘Force Engine’.
So because of this, if you own a copy of the original game on PC, you can now play with the new engine that has modern features such as changing graphical settings, control settings and of course allows you to tweak things such as the framerate and such. It also is a much smoother experience and provides a better gaming experience than the original has in years. So if you’re a Star Wars fan and want to see what all the fuss was about in the shooter space surrounding Star Wars games back in the day then now’s a great time to check it out!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
