Total War: Troy certainly has it’s fans and while the game has prided itself upon looking at the more realistic side of history including trying to make sense of the myths of that age it seems as though the latest DLC for the game is going full on fantasy, how exciting!
The “Mythos” expansion will bring in full-blown monsters into the game including gryphons and hydras alongside other mythological creatures stated to be from the legends of that time period. Alongside this the game will create 3 brand new gameplay modes for everyone to enjoy; Historical which will feature absolutely no fictional creatures, Truth Behind the Myth which will feature believable versions of these creatures such as having a Minotaur just being a guy with a bull head placed onto his head rather than being a mythical creature and finally full on Mythos which will feature all assortments of monsters and creatures.
I love this compromise as it allows both historical and fantasy fans to get access to the type of game they want and with hints at future mythological armies coming in later DLC such as that of the egyptian gods then this could be a very interesting blend of truth and fiction in a strategy game for the forseeable future.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
