In an AMA on the Overwatch subreddit recently the creators of Overwatch 2 gave some more small details about the game and the changes one can expect from the sequel. While we had some small things revealed such as the confirmation that the game will have a Beta and that they plan to keep adding new features after launch just as they did for the original game the big news is that a ‘large’ new feature for the game would be revealed fairly soon.
What could this be? Well nobody really knows but if I was to take an educated guess I would have to say some kind of Map Editor or Scenario Editor. The Map Editor would be a natural progression from the previously created custom game tools released in the original Overwatch and as such would allow people to be far more creative and unique in the new game modes and multiplayer maps they create. The Scenario Editor however would place more emphasis on the big new PvE focus that the sequel is going for and allowing people to make their own co-op campaigns would certainly extend the lifetime of the game. As of current however it’s all a bit up in the air but give it time and we will see about this new feature soon, let’s hope it blows our socks off.
