Usually I don’t get involved with Microtransactions as I find them to be a rabbit hole from which I can end up spending a large amount of money on things that technically don’t even exist. There are some exceptions however, Warframe being one of them.
I’m making this post because I recently bought some cosmetics in the game for real life money to replicate the cool looking DOOM homage you see above you. I thought about it long and hard but I realised that I enjoyed the game enough and like the Developers so why not spend some money on something that has no real meaning. That’s the main thing that I thought about when making my purchase, I wouldn’t make it if I didn’t view it almost as a charitable act. I like looking cool in my games but viewing it from a bigger picture essentially makes my purchase of an item that is not tangible seem almost worthless. I however can justify spending money on a digital avatar but I wondered what you all thought.
Do you enjoy spending real money on cosmetics in games? Do you find it worthwhile or do you think that spending your hard earned cash on something like that is just a waste of time when it could be something tangible or something that could provide a gameplay benefit? Share your thoughts and feelings in the comments! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
