Having a group of friends that you regularly play games with usually is the dream with most people who spend too much time playing in the digital world. I personally have a few people that I regularly play with on Overwatch (though I don’t play many other Multiplayer games so it’s mainly just this specific instance) which allows me to get an appreciation for having a group of like-minded people who are all here to have a good time just like you.
Gaming can really bring people together in a way that other forms of entertainment simply cannot replicate. Sure people who enjoy the same film can watch it together and discuss things about it but playing games with others allows you to spend vast amounts of time enjoying something that you all share a common interest in. This form of spending time with people, especially online now, helps to build upon the idea that the world is changing and while people may not interact face-to-face as much now does it really matter? You’re still talking with them and even if it is through a digital avatar you are there in spirit and that is what is most important.
