So on the cusp of the new year it has been confirmed by the Pokemon Company that the original base sets of the Pokemon Trading Card franchise are getting an Anniversary re-release in celebration of the upcoming 20th Anniversary of Pokemon.
You might think this is a bit of a strange move and will just be a silly little thing to help you re-live your childhood but in terms of the trading card economy this is huge news! Not only are original cards going to go down in price (like the legendary Charizard card) but it’s going to make a lot of collections people have a little bit less valuable. Personally however I would relish at the chance to get some of the older sets as they were the ones I collected when I still played the actual card game. Of course these cards are probably not going to be nearly as popular as the re-releases of the original Pokemon games on 3DS but it’s still big news.
So did you all play the Pokemon Trading Card game as a child? If so what were your favourite cards? Be sure to let us know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
