Steam is a good gaming platform, that much is known by all PC players. We all love to get the good deals during the sales or use the library feature to keep all our games contained and easy to access, but one feature I don’t see talked about too much is the Steam Overlay.
Essentially it acts as a type of information/community hub for any game being played through Steam. By pressing a combination of buttons you can access your friends list, messages, achievement lists and even a web browser all while in game. It’s extremely useful at times, especially when keeping up with a conversation with your friends. However a lot of people, me included, also find the overlay irritating in certain games. it can accidently activate meaning your action is paused, slow down your game or even reveal spoilers due to the community tab. While I do think it is still useful I would like to know what you all think of the Steam Overlay. Do you find it irritating and a waste of processing power or do you think the benefits far outweight the cons? Be sure to comment and let us know!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life
