It seems as though I should really keep up with Chuckle Fish’s news feeds as they are producing some of the most interesting looking games lately. The most recent addition to their collection which has unfortunately been delayed until the start of next year for quality control purposes is Wargroove which looks like the fantasy Advanced Wars I always wanted.
I am a sucker for bother the Advance Wars series and old school Fire Emblem so seeing a tactical, turn-based strategy game in a beautiful retro aesthetic and a good developer behind the project I am most certainly interested. While it is sad we won’t get it soon I’m just happy that it will be coming at all! Alongside the familiar mechanics from these old franchises Wargroove will also offer a map editor, mission creator and even multiplayer battles. I can’t wait for this to come out and see if this will reignite the old school strategy nerd within me.
