In my ever expanding quest to find new things to do within the Elder Scrolls Online I finally decided to play as a member of the Khajiit race, a group of cat people who live in the strange exotic landscape of Elsweyr. Now I haven’t actually played much of the ‘beast’ races of the Elder Scrolls series as I always felt that I would have a more personal connection with my character if they were at least the same race as me. Trying out this new character has certainly changed my perspective on things.
I named my Khajiit after one of my cats as I thought that would be pretty appropriate and he is in fact shaping up to be one of my strongest characters yet. I’m having a great time and praising my real cat as I go along my adventures. Maybe that’s the point of non-human races within fantasy games, to try and let you experience a completely different culture and playstyle from what you are used to. I certainly understand this as during my times in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer I absolutely adored playing as the robotic Geth race who were as far from human as you could imagine.
So what do you all think? Do you believe ‘Non-Human Races’ have a big impact on the gaming world, especially if they are playable, or do you think they don’t matter too much within these games? Be sure to comment and let us all know your opinions! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
