Horror

Hey look it’s Pennyw… oh wait…

I don’t nearly talk about Horror games enough, and quite frankly I think it’s because it’s a genre I never really found myself diving deep into. Honestly the horror games I have played the absolute most would be the Five Nights at Freddy’s games which some would say are a bad indication of the genre and what it is capable of.

So why do I find myself drawn away from these types of games? Perhaps I am not the biggest fan of the horror thrill, the feeling of being helpless and terrified in the comforts of my own home. There is another prevalent part of the genre though that I dislike, the overbearing powerhouse. In most horror games you are placed on the more vulnerable side of the story facing against monsters or killers that you couldn’t possibly take on yourself. If I think about it that way then perhaps it makes sense, I like to play games to get a sense of freedom that I can’t feel anywhere else and having myself feel trapped and alone in that environment makes it a less than enjoyable experience.

What do you all think of the horror games genre? Do you find them exhilirating and fun, if so why? Be sure to comment below and let us know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
